Irish Door Systems were contracted to provide an automated door system for a new Custom Boarder Gate in Terminal 2, Dublin Airport. This was a very complex project with a huge focus on security and a challenging programme. The design team produced a bespoke door system design with technical guidance from IDS. Dealing with Irish Door Systems on the Pier 400C Project in Dublin Airport has been very satisfactory. DAA had a specific set of requirements in relation to the intermediate separation of American and European passengers during periods of high demand for American gate allocation to increase passenger preclearance capability and American departing flights through Pier 4.
The solution involved the design and installation of large moveable glazed screens and bi parting doors within a busy live Pier. The solution provided fitted seamlessly within the existing Pier 4 environment and when complete looked like it was always meant to be there, which was a particular criteria for the Client.

Direct and effective access to IDS sales and technical people was critical to this projects success, particularly the onsite foreman had a “can do attitude” and was always quickly forward with a technical solution if required. All work was carried out with an absolute minimum of disruption to DAA’s operations, allowing them to operate while Irish Door Systems carried out the installation. From the outset Irish Door Systems have been professional and courteous to deal with, before, during, and after delivery. We would recommend them highly and will continue to use their services if the opportunity arises.
