Powder Coating
The powder coating process is a method of applying a protective and decorative layer of dry powder to a surface to protect metals and other materials against potentially harmful environmental factors.
The powder is electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the object, then cured in an oven to form a smooth and durable coating.
It can be applied to any material, but it is commonly used on steel, aluminium, and plastic.
Powder coating differs from traditional liquid paint as it provides excellent rust prevention, colour uniformity and scratch protection
The benefits of powder coating include:
- Resistance to scratches, corrosion, abrasion, chemicals, and detergents
- Capability for thicker and specialty finishes
- Less environmental impact and waste generation
- More efficient curing and drying processes
- Greater material utilization
- High-quality surface finish
- Wide aesthetic range
- No volatile compounds
- Recycling the overspray
